How the PrestaShop product import module works

How the standard PrestaShop product import module works

1. It imports products according to the module settings you choose and the information the supplier provides;
2. It imports only products from the selected supplier categories into categories you created, or it can import the supplier categories into your store (chosen when you order the module);
3. It imports products only from selected manufacturers, or from all of them. *Not every module has this option;
4. The module has three import modes:
   Standard: imports new products, removes products that no longer exist, and updates quantity, price, tax rule, attributes (combinations) and status (depending on the settings), so you can freely edit the product name, description and other information;
   Updates: the same as Standard, but it does not import new products;
   Full: updates the selected information of existing products;
5. The module can run together with other import modules and with products added to the system manually;
6. You can set a price multiplier and markups (fixed and percentage) for different price ranges, by category and by manufacturer*;
7. It deletes, disables, or sets quantity to 0 for products that disappear from the supplier list;
8. It imports only products whose quantity is above the limit set in the module;
9. It imports products as disabled or enabled, or switches status based on quantity;
10. It imports only products whose supplier price is inside the price range you set;
11. Individual products can be excluded so that the module:
    does not delete or disable them when they disappear from the supplier list;
    does not change their status;
    does not update quantity;
    does not update price;
    does not update combinations (attributes);
12. Import can be started in two ways: over HTTP (in the browser) or through CLI (SSH).
